FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

We regret to inform you that The Hunger Strike has been forced to cease the use of its name, logo, and all branding to avoid a federal lawsuit. Last year we were approached by an organization stating a discrepancy involving the use of certain words in our name. Over the past year, we have been in discussions with the organization that filed the suit against us, hoping to come to a Biblical resolution outside of court (1 Corinthians 6:1-11). Unfortunately, a resolution was not reached, and we were faced with a decision to fight for our name in federal court, or cease the use of it immediately.

After much prayer, The Lord has made it clear that our fight should not be for the name of our ministry, but rather, for The Kingdom of God to be advanced in our world. We refuse to use Hunger Strike donations to cover legal fees, and more importantly, we refuse to waste valuable time fighting other Christians in federal court. This would be an unacceptable waste of Kingdom money and a poor representation of the Body of Christ.

At this very early stage of transition, our goal is to still move forward with meal packing events, concerts, mission trips, and advocacy events. Therefore, we ask for your prayers during this time of transition, and request that you join us at the below websites so that we may communicate with you about the upcoming changes.

All upcoming meal packing events, mission trips, and advocacy events are continuing as scheduled. The one program immediately affected by this unfortunate circumstance is "The Hunger Strike Challenge" which will be forced to cease operations for the time being.

The lawsuit was solely over the use of the organization name and didn't involve any fraudulent or criminal activity, especially related to the use of funds. All past & future donations have remained secure and will be used for its intended purpose.

In Christ,

Jeremy Willet
